Catholic Bible Board Game |

(This is the first meeting in our Jr. High Ministry’s semester study of the Bible. See the Curriculum page for more information.)

Here is a board game I’m using with my Jr. High Youth Group. The board is a stylized map of the Middle East, and the path is a simplified version of the path the Jews take through the Holy Land (The path was simplified for the sake of turning it into a board game; for example, I left out Abraham’s journey to Egypt).

This is a simple meeting, which I love because it offers tons of time to just hang out with the teens and find out what’s going on in their lives.

  1. I had my 7th and 8th graders cut the board game out and glue it onto manila folders so they could take the game home.
  2. After a couple of students were done putting their board game together, we started playing the game.
  3. When everyone was done putting their board games together, and had a chance to play the game for a while, I briefly explaining some of the major stories that take place on the different parts of the path.
  4. Then we prayed, cleaned up, and called it a night.

This was the introductory meeting to our semester study of the Bible. Eventually I will post all our materials here, so check back every couple of weeks and look under the page titled “Curriculum.
